Blair Residence

Fayetteville, AR | 2005 | unbuilt

in the office of Marlon Blackwell Architect

The Blair residence is a 5,000 SF private home located along an active stream on a suburban Ozark hillside. Sited as close to the street as possible, the house starts as a deck and open proscenium that leaves the ground as the hill falls away beneath. The house program is dominated by the public spaces, which occupy the entirety of the upper floor. These spaces spill onto rooftop decks that span both levels. The house hovers above the landscape and bends downward, mimicking the topographic fall of the site. A vessel in the woods, the house is armored in zinc panels.
