Goodman Residence

Raleigh, NC | 2012 | 2,379 sf

Located on a wooded, north-sloping site above a creek, this house is constructed of two rows of pre-cast concrete panels and wood framing. The concrete panels are structural, weather resistant, and highly energy efficient, with an insulating value of R45. With large overhangs, the roof opens to southern exposure while following the slope of the land. The interior of the house is very open and features a large, central bar of millwork, custom-built by the owner, which contains many of the support functions. The house is designed to closely approximate Passivhaus standards.

The Goodman Residence is currently under construction, built by Anchorage Building Corporation. To learn more about passive design and construction with insulated concrete panels, contact us here.
